Home » Putty Pals (Slime Party UK): A Business Journey Fuelled by multifi Credit
Slime Party’s founder, Ruby Sheldon, began the business as a fun kitchen experiment with her children. After seeing how much they enjoyed making slime, she shared the experience with others by organising a slime-making workshop at a local village hall in 2018. The workshop was a hit, and soon Ruby found herself booking slime parties all across the UK, from Knightsbridge to village halls in Dorset. However, as the business grew, Ruby faced challenges, especially with cashflow, where multifi came in.
As Slime Party UK grew, cashflow became critical, significantly when scaling up production for larger orders. Ruby sought a flexible financing option to help manage these growing demands. Through multifi, she could secure credit that provided the financial flexibility her business needed. The multifi team offered her a simple and efficient solution, acting as a banking platform with easy access to funds for significant purchases without dipping into day-to-day cash flow.
In January 2024, Ruby launched The Putty Pals, a collection of sensory slime products with their own character. The product line was a hit. Slime Party expanded its reach internationally, launched in Norway, and secured retail deals with major outlets like Smyth’s Toys Superstores, Fenwicks, Toytown, and British Garden Centers. With multifi’s financial support, Ruby could focus on growing her business, expanding her product lines, and even planning the production of a new web series.
Thanks to multifi’s support, Slime Party UK has continued to expand its operations while managing cashflow effectively. As Ruby put it:
By providing unsecured credit, multifi allowed Slime Party to grow without the financial strain often faced by rapidly expanding businesses.
